OCAT® Basic Course (4 hours)
Students learn to identify the stages of conflict in order to recognize threats, reduce threats, and determine how and when to use force. Students also learn state-of-the-art tactical concepts such as spraying techniques, disengagement, proper spraying defensive positions, methods of movement, multiple opponent defense, contact and cover system, defense against moving attacks, ground defense, and drawing techniques. Upon completion of the course students will understand the effects of OC spray, identify factors justifying OC use, post exposure cleansing procedures, and proper documentation, all of which help reduce liability suits.
